Abstract: TV conference is a typical CSCW application. It is crucial to keep the consistency of all the user’s sensation when designing a shared whiteboard system. Three consistency concepts are defined in the paper. Based on client server model, a shared whiteboard communication algorithm supporting the consistency is designed and its improvement is discussed. Whiteboard message delivery on the client is controlled by its global serial number. Finally, the result of the experiment on LAN using this algorithm is given.
