Abstract: Web repository utilizes materialized views to manage and maintain web data. By bringing users high efficiency, materialized views suit for many domains, especially those focus on OLAP（online analytical processing） and decision-support applications. As base data changes very frequently, materialized views in web repository must be refreshed in time to be kept up-to-date. However, many problems rise from the process of repository’s refreshment. The most important one is the consistency between a view and its base data, which is named single view consistency （SVC for short） formally. This paper focuses on SVC and gives some discussion based on the features of web environment. After that some algorithms and methods are given, which can guarantee SVC and at the same time are adaptive and flexible to the vertiginous web.
