Abstract: GridFTP is a kind of grid file transfer software in Globus with client/server structure, which isn’t compatible with grid SOA.Though GASS in GT3 can be deployed to server by client, because of poor performance, GASS wasn’t used pervasively.For the above reasons, a new grid file management protocol called Vega Hotfile is developed, which is compatible with grid SOA.Based on Web services and Java servlet, Vega Hotfile can be dynamically deployed to Vega grid operation system and dynamically undeployed from it; Vega Hotfile has high availability and high manageability.With the same operations and different virtual file name, Vega Hotfile can transfer file by HTTP or HTTPS protocol.Performance evaluation shows that Vega Hotfile has far better performance than GASS with the same security level, and has better performance than GridFTP when file is smaller than 64MB.
