Abstract: Ada95, the revised version of Ada83, is a programming language which can support modern programming paradigms and practices, such as object oriented programming, programming in the large, and real time and parallel programming. This paper introduces the background and process of Ada95 revision, discusses the major features of Ada95, and analyzes its compatibility with Ada83.
