Abstract: Being output devices for different computer systems, printers are a series of peripheral devices developed with the growth of computer systems. Various types of printers are undergoing a gradual change from mechanical impact mode to electronic non-impact mode along with the technical progress of computer systems. To meet the requirements of users, printers will head for high speed. letter-quality, high reliability, simple operation, easy maintenance and low cost. This paper gives a brief introduction to the present status of various printers equipped for computer systems, as well as to the development trend of printers.
