Abstract: Human knowledge is stored in text written in natural language, and human-like knowledge acquisition is realized by learning the text. The positive interaction between knowledge, language and learning is of prime importance for building and improving knowledge base. Based on historical sketch of knowledge acquisition and language learning, a typical structure of text understanding system for knowledge acquisition is introduced and the natural language learning task problems are described.
