Abstract: Abstract:This paper introduces a new editor GEP whose editing object(specifica- tion written in the GSPEC language of the NDAUTO system)is a sequence of inter- leaved textual parts and tree structures.It describes in detail the features of GED with emphasis on the consistency and harmony in the interaction between text editing and tree editing.It also discusses some implementation issues and characteristics of GED.
