Abstract: A novel dead reckoning method based on the behavior model SCP is presented. The main feature of this method is to dead reckon using artifacts’ behavior status, which characterizes the artifacts’ behaviors during a certain time interval. Thanks to the use of a gradual approximation algorithm, this method also offers smooth motion. It effectively alleviates some shortcomings of previous methods, such as large behavior distortion and heavy network transmission when artifacts move fast. Experiments show that this method has the advantage of little behavior distortion and less network transmission.
