EGIST: AN IMPROVED GENERALIZED SEARCH TREE

摘要: 对象关系数据库系统采用可扩展的体系结构和支持特定领域的构件相结合的方式来满足各种新型应用领域的要求 ,为此 ,提供一个可扩展的存取结构成为对象关系数据库研究中的一个重要方面 .在介绍通用搜索树结构的基础上 ,提出了一种改进的搜索树结构 .该结构具有很好的灵活性和适应性 ,基于该结构可以实现一些常见的搜索树形式 ,如 B+树、RD树、K- D树、SS树等

Abstract: Object relational DBMSs （ ORDBMSs ） are designed to satisfy the demands of novel application domains by providing an extensible architecture and the domain specific component. So, providing an extensible access method is one of the important aspects of ORDBMSs. Based on the GiST（generalized search tree）, EGiST is presented. It can be used to implement the B + tree,RD Tree,K D tree,SS tree, and other kinds of search trees.
