Abstract: The design and performance analysis of a hybrid multiple access protocol suitable for time critical communications are introduced in detail. The protocol combines the advantages of controlled access protocols and random access protocols. It can not only meet the deadlines of all time critical messages in the system , but also maintain a high efficiency.
