Abstract: This paper describes a knowledge based system for the planning of assembly sequences The system lays particular stress on the utilization of domain knowledge instead of pure geometric calculation with high complexity of description and computation.It includes the understanding of assembly task,the generation of assembly relationship model and the algorithm of assembly sequences planning.
