Abstract: Using electronic variable character button (it is a button made by mounting a matrix symbolic display on the ordinary button), a typewriting and translating keyboard can be made for words and phrases in all Chinese and foreign languages. The new computer made with the keyboard not only can conduct ordinary monitoring and programming and operation of extracting characters, but also can conduct some novel operations of retrieving, extracting and translating words and phrases. It can be used for general office and personal users, greatly increasing the speed for processing words, writing and translation, and lessening people's laboring strength.
