    消息处理层的软件开销分析及优化

    ANALYSIS AND OPTIMIZATION OF SOFTWARE OVERHEAD IN MESSAGING LAYERS

    • 摘要: 本文在现行基于主动消息的消息处理层基础上,对几种典型通信协议的实现过程进行了一般性概括,阐述了各种软件开销的来源。通过对典型大规模并行机的分析表明:40-55%的通信软件开销来自缓冲管理、握手协议和消息应答。最后对消除或减少这些软件开销的途径及其可行性进行了探讨

       

      Abstract: In this paper, we exactly identify the sources of software communication overhead by analyzing the procedure of typical protocols in messaging layers based on active messages. We show that up to 40-55% of the software messaging costs are a direct consequence of buffer management, round trip handshake, and reception acknowledgement.We also discuss several methods to reduce these overheads and their feasibilities in implementations.
