Abstract: In this paper. the main memory of an engineering database management system EDBMS/3 is discussed. Management of the. system buffer and the table working area, and reading and writing operations for the blocks in the disk make the I/O operations by the tables and tuples swapping decreased, therefore increasing the access efficiency of EDBMS/3.
