Abstract: The architecture and model of collaborative CASE tools proposed by Vessey are introduced. Based on the experience in developing collaborative IDEF4 tool, the implementation of crucial technologies needed in collaborative CASE tools is discussed, with emphasis on data sharing, access control, concurrency control, consistency enforcement, and multiuser interface.
