Abstract:
Information grid aims to helping eliminate isolated island of information, so that users can achieve the sharing and managing of information resources and easily provide information services on the entire grid. Its key challenge is to present new ideas and common techniques of distributed information sharing. The design framework, architecture and the behavior-oriented spatio-temporal model used in the Vega Information Grid are presented in this paper, with emphasis on the discussion of how these techniques are useful in solving problems related to the representation, organizing, acquisition, presentation, management, and processing of information, thus providing desirable properties such as versatile services, enabling intelligence, global uniformity, and autonomous control.
