Abstract: The basic idea, characteristics and improvement of the heuristic algorithm for task assignment in distributed systems are analysed first, and then an improved heuristic algorithm is put forward and its distinguishing features and performances are discussed. Finally, the development trend of task assignment in distributed systems is pointed out.
