Abstract:
The quality of random number (RN) used in cryptosystem has become a research focus,with the increasing extension of the application fields of smart IC (integrated circuit) cards.RN is applied to mutual authentication between IC cards and card readers,data encryption,and data secure transmission.Based on the analysis of the characteristics of chaotic sequences generated by discrete time logistic map,and the historical records stored on EEPROM,an RN generation method for IC cards is presented in the paper.Simulation results show that the sequences generated by this method have good correlation property,and the sequences are randomly unpredictable because the initial values are masked.This method is suitable for smart IC card application systems.
