Abstract:
The widely used TCP based transportation controlling mechanisms will introduce severe problems such as insufficient use of resources, low efficiency and heavy overhead if they are exploited into mobile networks without necessary modification. By analyzing features of wireless channels and fundamental reasons of the problems mentioned above, and by tailoring, optimizing and extending TCP’s transportation controlling mechanisms accordingly, great improvement can be achieved. In this paper, with the examples of TCP and WAP, key problems and policies of mobile ad hoc transportation controls are addressed in terms of packet loss recovery, connection maintenance and transmission conceptual model. And the conclusion is also verified by analyzing the stable cyclic traffic model. Finally, key techniques in implementation of transportation controls on telecommunication oriented equipments are presented.
