Abstract:
When making an ongoing transition to high performance computer neworks, it is found that the research focus is how to provide enough link bandwidth and how to take advantage of it well. A Linux-based twin-ring optical interconnection network is introduced, which can be used in computer cluster, including the design of optical interconnection interface card, the device driver, and the architecture. The communication performance has been tested and analyzed. The dominant factor in determining the overall performance is pointed out.
