Abstract: This paper introduces the first 32 bit compacted superminicomputer KSJ-2730 in China.Emphasis is laid on the following three advanced technical distinctions of the machine:1.system structure of functionally distributed processing;2.advanced microprogramming;3.adoption of various new type LSI components.Still,the important significance of successfully developing the machine as well as the technical difficulties encountered and the strategies taken during the development are briefly introduced.
