Abstract: To develop a new theory or a practical system in natural language processing, it is necessary to investigate the conventional natural language processing techniques and find out the problems to be solved in the development of new techniques. In this paper, we introduce various natural language processing techniques from simpler to more complex in detail and evaluate them according to their effects in practical applications and their perspectives in theoretical development We wish this paper will help the readers to get a relatively complete understanding of natural language processing.
