Abstract: The Action-Oriented Hierarchical Network Model （AOHNM） for conceptual modelling is described in this paper. AOHNM specifies not only the static but also the dynamic aspects of applications. Static aspect modelling describes the structural properties of real world objects and their relationships. The dynamic aspect presents the dynamic processes and their rules. The integration of both aspects shows fully the system dynamic behavior.AOHNM provides the methodology for information system design and analysis and facilitates rapid prototyping.
