Abstract: Research on Web data management starts from the observation. Much of today’s electronic data does not conform to traditional database techniques. An overview of Web data management is given in this paper. A definition of Web data management is presented. Also surveyed are existing research on Web query, semistructured data, XML, information integration, etc.. Based on the above survey and analysis, a reference architecture is developed, which helps outline the approaches mentioned above and point to several open problems.
