Abstract
Alternative splicing is a major mechanism for adjusting gene expression and generating protein diversity, which has important biological significance. With the rapid increase of biological data, the single computer can hardly meet the requirement for massive computing power of alternative splicing research works. In such context, a network parallel computing scheme for alternative splicing problems is presented. With careful consideration of challenges, a service-oriented network resource virtualization mechanism is designed, which provides uniform selection, access and monitoring interfaces to network resources. Furthermore, a suite of API provides user-oriented application layer support, which hides the details of accessing network resources, and support quick and efficient application development.
