INFORMATION SERVICE AND RESOURCE DISCOVERY IN DISTRIBUTED VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENTS

In distributed virtual environments （DVE）, there are many resources such as scene entities, user’s avatars, CPU, memory, and network. Information service and resource discovery are frequently required when the system performs collision detection, dynamic load balancing, consistency maintenance, and system security. An information service and resource discovery mechanism are proposed for DVE system, providing efficient and reliable access to dynamic information about diverse and distributed state of resources.
