    A NEW GENERATION OF INTELLIGENT CAD ENVIRONMENT FOR COMPUTERIZED EMBROIDERY

    • NeedlePaint——a new generation of intelligent CAD environment for computerized embroidery is introduced in this paper. Its architecture, data structure and implementation techniques are described in great detail. Since computer software techniques, such as image processing, artificial intelligence, computer aided design etc., are applied to NeedlePaint, various input methods for original designs are available and stitches can be organized automatically. Both integration and automation of embroidery punching ranging from original designs inputting to image processing, stitch generation, stitch optimization and data transformation are thus covered in NeedlePaint. As a result, the quality and efficiency of embroidery punching are improved greatly.
