An Integrated Scheduling Framework for Open Real-Time Environment

    • In the open real-time environment, different kinds of real-time tasks coexist in one system. This brings new requirements and challenges to the real-time scheduling mechanism. A triple-level framework for integrated scheduling is proposed. It is based on the theory of real-time scheduling of servers. It integrates five kinds of servers that have both common characters and complementarity in their functions. The framework can schedule different kinds of real-time tasks and non-real-time tasks when they coexist in one system, and it can automatically choose the most proper kind of server to serve the tasks according to their detail properties. Compared with the approaches already existing, the framework can support more kinds of scheduling objects, control the QoS, and be extended easily. Therefore, it fits the open real-time environment better.
