A Method of MPLS-Based Recovery

MPLS based recovery provides faster response to faults than traditional Layer 3 approaches and more protection functions than lower layer mechanisms H M scheme for MPLS? based recovery is presented to solve the packet loss problem of Makam’s scheme and delay and packet reordering problems of Haskin’s scheme It integrates global repair and local repair by introducing fault indication signal to Haskin’s scheme Both theoretical analyses and simulation results show that H M scheme has less packet reordering and much lower delay and packet losses
