AN INFORMATION SYSTEM PLATFORM WITH CLIENT/SERVER COMPUTING ENVIRONMENT BASED ON NOVELL/ORACLE

The building of information Systems （IS） platform is a prerequisite and a basis for the development of IS, and it directly influences the action of is functions.Around the Client/Server key technology representative of the 90s’ state-of-the-art ofnetwork technology, this paper describes the characteristics of S platform mode ofClient/Server computing environment. Based on the background of Hefei Tax BureauInformation System （HFTBIS）, the design and implementation of a HFTBIS platformwith a Client/Server computing environment based on NOVELL/ORACLE are presented.
