A Knowledge Acquisition Tool for Constructive Expert Systems

This paper describes a knowledge acquisition tool: SALT, which is used for acquiring knowledge and building knowledge base for constructive expert systems. SALT assumes that the expert systems exploit a problem solving strategy called as propose-revise. According to the strategy, SALT guides its interrogation of domain experts and represents the knowledge elicited from the experts in a specific way so that it is tested and used.
