A PROXY-FILTER-BASED APPLICATION ADAPTATION ARCHITECTURE FOR MOBILE IP

The adaptation ability is widely recognized as crucial to the success of mobile applications. This paper advocate a application adaptation architecture for Mobile IP. In this architecture, an intermediary called proxy filter is interposed between mobile host and stationary host, the intermediary can filter data to mobile host dynamically and adaptively according to the current network state. The principle and design of such an architecture are desribed in detail.
