    DESIGN OF A SCALABLE 13×13 ATM SWITCH MODULE

    • Because the Prelude switching architecture is originally proposed for experiment, it is difficult to implement it into a practical ATM switching architecture. The parts which are not suitable for the implementation of ATM switching are modified, and an ATM switch module based on the Prelude principle is introduced. Since the HEC in the head of ATM cell doesn’t need to be switched, a whole cell can be segmented into 13 parts. This feature results in the easy implementation and good scalability of the ATM switch module.
