THE EXTENSION OF OBJECT-ORIENTED FUNCTIONS OF SQL

This paper first introduces the design idea of OODB language OSQL. Basedon the standard relational database language SQL, its object-oriented functions are extended and a new OODB language OSQL is designed. It not only preserves the characteristics of SQL but also supports object-orientation, distributed object, object activityand multimedia information management. It is an effective distributed OODB language.
