An Adaptive Metadata Publishing Policy in Information Grid

Metadata evolution of information sources may make inconsistent applications referring to information sources. Without modifying applications, users may not access information correctly. Based on information grid address space model, the application indirectly employs information source metadata by virtual resource metadata or application field metadata. When information source metadata evolves, the mapping between application field metadata and information source metadata is adjusted to ensure consistent applications referring to information sources without modifying applications. From the aspect of metadata publishing, a Vega adaptive mapping algorithm （VAMA） is put farward to automatically regulate the mapping between application field metadata and information source metadata. Compared with the current methods of metadata publishing, Vama method is better in adapting metadata evolution.
