Automatic Mapping Algorithms of Systolic Arrays

By defining the concepts of computation sets and time-space sets, this paper puts forward a formal specification for the problem of mapping algorithms onto systolic array. According to the theoretical base of the mapping problems, some useful results are given. This paper also classifies and analyses the existing mapping methods and their features. Hurdles of the mapping problem are discussed and some possible solutions are presented.
