Abstract
Power control is one of the major challenges in radio resource management in third generation mobile communications networks, and traditional power control mainly concerns the real time voice services in mobile communications systems In this paper, a new utility function with pricing is presented and a game theoretic framework for uplink power control for data services in wireless networks is proposed The existence and uniqueness of the Nash equilibrium in the non cooperative power control game are proved Then a synchronous distributed power control algorithm is proposed Numerical simulations are conducted to demonstrate the performance of the algorithm The transmission characters of each user and the effects of the pricing factor in the utility function on the performance of the system are explored, and the results show that the convergence performance of the algorithm is satisfactory
