Member Systems Supporting AI Problem Solving

Starting with production systems which is highly similar to the nature of human thinking, this paper analyzes the limitation of information processing theory in cognitive psychology, and puts forward a concept of finitely related clusters in human thinking process and a member system model (MS), which is based on this concept and supports general, parallel, especially distributed, and cooperative AI problem solving. A concurrent member system programming language MS-1 based on the nondeterministic member system model is introduced from its design consideration, basic architecture, grammatical rules, communication primitive and working mechanism.
