Handoff Success Probability in Mobile Internet

Simulations using Poisson and self similarity traffic under the hard and semi soft handoffs in mobile Internet are conducted to study the opportunities of successfully transferring link during both of the two handoffs Simulation result indicates that under the two kinds of traffic, semi soft handoff can provide higher success handoff probability And the handoff success probability of self similarity traffic is higher than that of Poisson The reason for the higher success handoff rate of self similarity traffic is explained from the analysis of probability distribution of the two kinds of traffics
