INTERNET ATM NETWORK FOR INTEGRATED SERVICE AND INTERNETWORKING

Integrated service Internet architecture, resource reservation protocol（RSVP）, Internet stream protocol （ST II）, and resource reservation in advance （ReRA） are presented in the paper. Several internetworking protocols between Internet and ATM are described. Also described is IP over ATM with which the packets of classical TCP/IP protocol family are encapsulated and delivered. LAN emulation architecture and an implementation instance are reviewed.Multi protocol over ATM （MPOA） is introduced, which supports different network layer protocols over ATM, and an implementation instance of MPOA is given. Finally, the method of translation quality of service between different entities in Internet ATM network is discussed.
