Abstract
Active message integrating communication and computation is an efficient and versatile communication architecture. The LogP model, reflecting the key performance of modern MPP, is a realistics oriented parallel algorithm design model. This paper discusses its characteristics and analyzes its complementation in algorithm design. We assert that designing an algorithm according to LogP model and handling communication with active message is the best algorithm design approach on MPP.
