On Transparency of Distributed File Systems

Based on the analysis of many famous distributed file systems（DFS）,this paper clai- ms that the transparency of DFS is mainly reflected in four aspects which are location transparency, access transparency,concurrency transparency and failure transparency.It also presents and assesses the theories and techniques used to implement the transparency mentioned above,with the purpose of studying the future trend of DFS design and acquiring some practical experiences.
