3D Animation of the VRML Model of a Virtual Human Body for Chinese Sign Language Synthesis

    • The synthesis of Chinese sign language is to convert automatically the text to some signs that deaf people can understand well 3D animation of a virtual human body is critical to the synthesis task because a sign language is a visual language and expressed by hand motion and face expression In this paper, a method is presented to display a VRML model, which represents a virtual human body under any pose And then how to display a continuous sign language or animate a 3D virtual human body is discussed Many experiment results are given This method is general and can be applied not only to Chinese sign language synthesis but also to virtual human synthesis such as human motion interaction in many Internet applications
