The Memory Management Mechanism and Its Optimization in MS-DOS

The mechanism of memory management in MS-DOS and its data structures and algorithms are introduced in this paper. The problems, such as fragments and pointers, existing in this kind of memory management method, are presented. Finally, a scheme to optimize the mechanism is put forward, and its ideas and means of design is discussed.
