    DESIGNING AND IMPLEMENTING THE INTEGRATED NETWORK DESIGN AND RESEARCH ENVIRONMENT

    • Simulation is a vital tool to quickly and inexpensively explore the behavior of the network. Little progress has been made in the integrated and friendly environments and tools of network research and design using simulation while there are a lot achievements in network protocol research. And distribution, interaction and integration are the most notable three trends of simulation application in network. In this paper, the architecture of the Integrated Network Design and Research Environment (INDRE) is proposed. The solutions of the three aspects of network simulation are illustrated: ① strategies of visual modeling, and reusable network topologies models with semantic content; ② scalable data collection; ③ automatic statistics and analysis of the resulting data.
