LOCAL CLOCK BASED REGIONAL VECTOR CLOCK

This paper analyzes the limitations of vector clock in applications, and then presents a regional vector clock based on local clocks. It is proved that the new vector clock characterizes the causal relationships in distributed computations. The vector clock is independent of the underlying programs, simplifies the management, cuts down the complexity of vector clock methods, and is suitable for performance analysis and concurrency measure of distributed computations.
