    AN EVENT CORRELATION SCHEME BASED ON SUB-NETWORK CORRELATION

    • Fault is inevitable in networks. When a fault happens, it will propagate through network and cause a large number of alarm event. How to correlate among events to identify the fault exactly and fast is the key task of network management. After studying the fault propagation mechanism in network, an event correlation scheme based on sub network correlation is proposed, limiting the correlation range only in the sub network where the event generator is. The event operation model is also proposed, which is divided into pre procession operation, basic operation, and location operation. Finally, the scheme is implemented and tested with performance analysis.
